The questions were displayed on a working wall in the classroom and used to form the basis of small-group discussions which followed the class reading of the book. The answers to these questions could be found by actively engaging with the text which meant that there was a purposeful reason for reading the book. Having discussed initial questions, these were revisited following subsequent chapters and new questions were added to the wall to promote further discussion.
